Description Publisher's printed pictorial wrappers (detached from contents). With the ownership signature of S. Roche and a few pencil performance markings. Inscribed intimately and signed, in ink, by the composer at the head of p.1 "Pour Suzanna, affectueusement, son Titis, 1933". With cover design by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973). Poulenc was part of the group known as “Les Six”, which included Honegger, Milhaud, Auric, Tailleferre and Durey; they were much associated with Jean Cocteau and promoted an anti-Germanic music agenda. Many of Poulenc’s solo songs are idiomatic and he was the only one of “Les Six” to continue with their ideals.
