Unbound, within overall title-leaf bifolium (slightly larger twenty-four-stave paper). Autograph manuscript, in black ink on fourteen-stave paper, comprising fair copy manuscript for the publisher (marked up by the engraver, with pl.no.10418), with one pastedown, as printed by Leduc in 1901; the printed pages from the composer's Méthode complete de violoncelle, Op.12, printed by Leduc in 1878 (with the pl.no.AL5954). Nos 4-7, 9 and 10 are fully autograph, nos 1, 8 and 11 are part autograph and part completed by the previous printed edition, and nos 2, 3 and 12 are supplied in the former printed edition. Dedicated to his students at the Paris Conservatoire. |
