| Description |
Black cloth with printed pictorial front wrapper laid down, depicting three men (one playing bagpipes). Fuld (p.434) describes the front cover as being the standard Universal Edition light and dark green, but see Fuld’s note on p.685 where he cites the score with the illustrated wrapper and states that both he and Richard Macnutt have this issue which he suggests is ‘probably for the foreign market’. Richard Macnutt believes that these copies were published earlier than the standard UE wrapper but also states that it could be like Kurt Weil’s Dreigroschenoper where 2 sets of different wrappers were issued. Macnutt’s notes are found in pencil on the front endpapers of the score. |
