| Description |
Sewn as issued in publisher's printed wrappers. Dedicated to Lionel Tertis, with affection and esteem. This work is a transcription, almost certainly by Beethoven himself, of the Serenade, Op.8 for string trio, originally published in 1804 by Hoffmeister and Kühnel. The unauthorized arrangement which preceded this one (published by Artaria) had angered Beethoven. The present edition has been rendered practicable for modern concert use by the arranger. |
