Leather (rubbed at edges, corners and generally all over), gilt, with calf backstrip stitched on in the nineteenth century. Front hinge partly cracked and with some foxing and marginal browning to opening leaves. Frontispiece engraved by D. Loggan after Gianbatista Caesper, with imprint "printed by Jno. Baskett ... and the Assignes of Tho. Newcomb & Henry Hills, deceas'd, 1714". Covers with gilt ownership stamp of "St Ann, Westminster, 1723". |
