Loose sheets, as issued (some slight marginal sunning), preserved in a modern quarter cloth and marbled boards portfolio. There are fifteen costume designs of which nine designs are extremely detailed, describing not only in which act and scenes the costumes are seen but stipulating the roles of the singers and the colours required for each of their costumes. Six of the plates give the names of the characters and in one case the act in which they will perform. The seven stage designs give the acts and scenes. Le Jardin du Paradis was premièred at the Paris Opéra in October 1923. |
