| Description |
Mounted and framed. Some slight creasing to lower corners of sheet below the image. Engraving by Chambars depicting three musicians, half-length, man to left playing guitar and looking towards the viewer, central man who has put his hand around his shoulders, is singing whilst raising his glass, man to right playing a flute player; on the far right a pitcher. After a painting attributed on the plate to Caravaggio and now to Valentin de Boulogne (1591-1632). William Cavendish (1720-1764), 4th Duke of Devonshire was Prime Minister 1756-7. |
