Green morocco, gilt, in matching slipcase. With contributions by Grillparzer (9 poems) and the Viennese circle of poets around Caroline Pichler (translated from Byron). Schreyvogel was "als erster das Talent des jungen Grillparzer erkannt und gefördert" ("the first to recognize and promote young Grillparzer's talent") (Lanckoronska/R). The plates depicting paintings of Italian and Dutch schools (including Rubens's Helene Fourment). Apart from the delicate browning, excellently preserved. |
