Quarter calf (rubbed and worn) with marbled boards (edges bumped and worn). pp.21/22 of Op.5 lacking and reproduced in facsimile. Front cover with armorial bookplate of "J. Gibson A.M.", title of Op.4 with stencilled name of C. Gibson dated 1779 within decorative oval. Imprint to Op.4 with additional manuscript entry reading "Sold by J. Walsh in Catherine Street Strand". Engraved. Singers mentioned in the titles are Cecilia Arne [née Young] (1712-1789), Thomas Lowe (fl.1745-d.1783), and also in the Op.5 Henry Theodore Reinhold (1690?-1751). |
