Description |
Polished half calf (rubbed, heads and feet of backstrip worn and a little missing). Bookplate of Sir John Stainer (1840-1901). Violino primo and tenor parts with most lower outer corners having marginal reinforcements, titles grubby, and some occasional ink stains; tenor part with title laid down, and pp.2-3 with Japanese tissue (over blade cuts) making central parts of pages faint; secondo and basso parts with lower outer corners with slight creases and some light ink stains/use. Contains instrumental music from the semi-operas of Dioclesian, King Arthur, The Indian Queen, and The Fairy Queen, and incidental music from the plays The Married Beau, The Old Bachelor, Amphitryon, The Double Dealer, Distressed Inocency of the Princess of Persia, The Gordion Knot Untyed, Abdelazor, Bonduca, and The Virtuous Wife. |
