Publisher's cream printed wrappers (head and foot of backstrip ever so slightly worn). Title printed in red and black. The copyright date is 1910 and '-1912' has been added afterwards by stamping and not printing. The Trois Ballades were first performed on 5 February 1911, sung by Paul de l'Estang. Lockspeiser describes them as one of Debussy's finest song-cycles (Debussy, His Life and Mind, p.10). The orchestrated edition was published in 1911. |
